As part of my trip through the Ancient Mayan trail, we stopped in magical, enchating, Belize. I love the laid back vibe in this this tiny island country. Belize also has a special place in my heart because it is one of the most beautifully mixed places on earth and packed with culture. Everyone speaks Spanish, English and Kriol and it has everything including jungles, the Caribbean Sea, Mayan ruins and whale sharks.
Everything in Belize is a postcard. We went snorkeling in the ocean and visited the Altun Ha temple. Our second day, we wandered around Belize city in awe of the Island views. But beyond that, the relaxed beach fun is what became the highlight. We took a boat out to Caye Caulker Island, a teeny tiny island only 5 miles long. If you love fresh fish, this is the place to come! My favorite: deep fried, coconut curry snapper with sweet fries.
We swam in the middle of a storm, danced all night and ate dinner in the middle of the water out on the pier. There isn’t much else to say about Belize, this is one of the few places where the photos speak for themselves.
