I’ve been in love with renfaire since I first experienced it as a little kid. I was immediately captivated by all the costumes, the jousting, and pretty much everything that went along with it. It just captured my imagination.
I’ve been attending the renaissance faire almost every year ever since then. As a kid, I attended in street clothes and just walked around, taking in everything the faire had to offer. As I got older, though, I began to go in costume, and that definitely added another layer of enjoyment to the entire visit.
Renfaire has always captured my imagination and sparked my creativity, and I wanted to share those same feelings with E. He’s just about the same age I was when I first went, and the magic of the renaissance faire is just waiting to draw him in. And it did!
E had so much fun watching the jousting, sampling the food, watching everyone in costume, and generally taking in the atmosphere of the faire. From fairies and bards to pirates and knights, E was in a perpetual state of wonder. He also enjoyed the food, which made lunchtime easier.
Sharing one of my favorite things with E was absolutely amazing for both of us. Once renfaire gets a hold of you, it never lets you go, and watching my son experience it for the first time was so heartwarming. I know we’ll be coming back yearly, and I hope his love of the faire stays with him forever.
If you love renfaire, I hope you’ll drop me a comment and tell me your favorite part of it.
