Archibald Finch Luncheon with Millennial Mamas

Archibald Finch and the Lost Witches is a compelling read surrounding an 11-year-old boy and his sister and the magical mysteries that they unearth. While exploring his grandmother's manor, Archibald Finch unlocks the secret of a strange globe, he is sucked into the underworld of Lemurea where he must help in the ageless struggle between light and dark. Meanwhile, his sister, Hailee wrestles with her own challenges while she tries to find him. It's a wonderful read. That's why I was so glad to be part of the Archibald Finch luncheon hosted by Millennial Mamas. It was a lovely time focusing on the book and the author, Michel Guyon.

Meeting Some Wonderful People at the Archibald Finch Luncheon

I have to say, this luncheon was one of the best get-togethers I've attended in a long time. I met some amazing, powerful - and downright friendly - women who understand the power of reading and books as much as I do. You see, growing up in my house, there were no televisions. Rather than entertainment centers, we had bookshelves. In fact, my friends joked that they didn't need to go to the local library, they could just come to my house. Needless to say, I've been in love with books for my entire life.

What started as a decision my parents made in my childhood has grown into one I've made for myself and my son. I still don't have a television in my house. I have no problem with TV, I just want my son's entertainment to be based around the written word. I want his imagination to carry him to places that have dragons and mystery and horror (when he's older) and anything else he can see with his mind's eye through books.

Bonding Over Books at the Archibald Finch Luncheon

My passion with books and my love for Archibald Finch and the Lost Witches are both so strong that I lept at the chance to attend this luncheon and meet the author of the book. Sitting at a table full of smart, successful, book-loving women as well as Michel Guyon gave me an even greater love of books and the way that words on a page can spark the imagination and bring people together.

I and my fellow attendees sat and talked about the book, the author's inspiration, and our mutual love of all books in general. I had a real sense of finding people who completely understood what it means to be transported to another world through the pages of a good book. I had an amazing time at the Archibald Finch Luncheon, and I look forward to more time spent with the gret ladies of Millennial Mamas.
