Moving forward is one of the most important parts of a successful life. My blog is one year old, but I'm still moving forward. That's as true for me now as it has ever been, which is why I'm excited to announce that it's my one-year blogiversary! For one year, I've been sharing my life with all of you, and it's been a wonderful experience.

Eukiah started solids at 4 months and what a fun mess it has been! Thus started my search for The best high chair. I didn’t have to look far once I found the 4moms high chair. Being organized is about more than tackling clutter. It is more than just a place for everything and everything in its place. It's more than finding places for all of our stuff. Being organized is about finding peace and balance in all things in your life and your spirit. I've believed that for my entire life, even when I was too young to put it into words. organized in our lives allows us to get rid of the chaos within ourselves as well.

The Archibald Finch Luncheon, hosted by Millennial Mamas was a great event! And I have to say, this luncheon was one of the best get-togethers I've attended in a long time. I met some amazing, powerful - and downright friendly - women who understand the power of reading and books as much as I do. You see, growing up in my house, there were no televisions. Rather than entertainment centers, we had bookshelves. In fact, my friends joked that they didn't need to go to the local library, they could just come to my house. Needless to say, I've been in love with books for my entire life. the Archibald Finch Luncheon, we talked books, reading, and the written word.

Thankfully, DP Hue has perfected the recipe for ACV! Eukiah and I spent the day with the Millennial Mamas being pampered at the fabulous DP Hue House in Beverly Hills. We got scalp rinses, hair masques and blowouts (I got a “curl out”). I had no idea Apple Cider Vinegar was so good for my hair! Even as a curly girl, my hair has never felt more fresh at the root and shiny on the outside.

I recently had the opportunity to attend the flagship &Breathe postnatal well being retreat in Texas with my 3-month-old son, and I was overwhelmed by the level of care, thoughtfulness, and love put into each and every aspect of this amazing retreat. The &Breathe philosophy empowers, inspires, and says, "It's okay to need help. In fact, we're here to do that." It was an experience that I'll remember for the rest of my life. I came away from the retreat feeling empowered, enthusiastic for what's to come, and with the realization that being overwhelmed doesn't mean I'm a bad mom.

This year I’ve met some of the most inspiring entrepreneur Moms who are leading by example and changing the Mom community on a major scale. One of my FAVORITE Moms is Maria Hunt, creator and owner of Unicorn Moms. Maria’s wit and no-filter approach to life is a refreshing and much needed voice in the Mama world. I love her Instagram & Facebook pages. And as a person, she radiates a warmth and sincerity that is infectious. It’s no wonder that hundreds of women come out every year to her annual event, Unicon.

My first day back out into the world as a new Mama with my baby boy was a thrill! Baby Tula launched their latest carrier, the Explore, and I can’t think of a more fitting event to attend. Hosted at the stunning Lombardi House in Hollywood, CA, Tula curated a fun afternoon complete with flower crowns, succulent arrangement station, and fun video-booths! The best part is that we got to talk to Tula experts and get one-on-one help with fitting the carrier.

During my pregnancy we took all the infant safety classes and read all the books. When Eukiah was born, I thought I was completely prepared – swivel bassinet, crib, pack n’ play and rockers all set up. Sleeping safely should be a breeze, right? Wrong. The first thing I learned about being a new mom is how impossibly difficult it is to co-sleep safely…Finally, I started seeing images float around of these beautiful sleeping babies that seemed to be nestled into a safety raft of sorts. This safe co-sleeper is the DockATot. The DockATot is a multi-functional lounger, co-sleeper and playtime lounger that we now bring with us everywhere.

I've always been a big proponent of the Montessori Schools and education philosophy. When I learned that Montessori started the Monti Kids program I was ecstatic!  Monti Kids is the best comprehensive developmental program for infants and toddlers to use at home, based on proven Montessori methods. I set up the first toy, the Munari Mobile, for Eukiah in his first week. He responded immediately to the black and white shapes slowly rotating overhead. It's fascinating to see his brain development this early on!

Having lived in big cities for most of my life, I find myself being drawn towards the “slow living” lifestyle more and more. In alignment with this, I am enjoying wearing a watch again because I’m also trying to minimize the amount of time I spend on my phone.  It is no wonder, then, that JORD Watches appeals to all of my aesthetic tastes…These watches also have a lot of personal meaning for me, because Josh and I decided to name our son after our favorite tree, the eucalyptus. Our family bond is based in our love of nature and I wanted us to both have something that represented that.

Our son is lucky enough to have 2 very special Godmothers. For our Baby Shower, I wanted to get them something equally special that represents the important role they will play in his life.  When I found the Made with Love by Angie shop I knew I had found the perfect gifts! When I got pregnant I started paying close attention to what I put in my body, on my body, all my physical activity and especially my mental-emotional state of mind. Despite everyone's warnings that pregnancy would make me hyper-emotional, I was determined to try and maintain a rational balance - at least within my own thoughts and the energies that I surrounded myself with… WE ARE HAPPY PLACE at L.A. LIVE in downtown Los Angeles is founded on this principle of happiness. 

Even before pregnancy, I slept with pillows in-between my knees and arms for support. But once I got into my second trimester I started to build a fortress of pillows around me. It was ridiculous! I felt uncomfortable sleeping on my side, and trying to maneuver or turn over at night was an impossible feat with 6-7 moving parts. Enter the Béaba Big Flopsy Maternity and Nursing Pillow! "Birch Bag" jumped out at me immediately not only because it's completely my style, but also because Josh was sitting next to me and said "that one is for me, right?" lol. Bingo. 

When my best friend and I attended a big baby shower convention earlier this month, my registry was pretty much set in stone. I went to the event expecting to make a few additions and minor tweaks after reviewing products in person, but I was in for a surprise. After visiting the 4moms station and talking to the representatives I changed a lot of my registry items and put 4moms on the “must have” list! I recently got to try out a favorite item on my list: the Breeze Plus playard.

Hip-Hop isn’t just a music genre to me, it’s part of my culture. I’ve been a Hip-Hop dancer my entire life - it was the first style I learned. We followed the stories of the all-stars through the songs and the media like it was Game of Thrones. It influences our language and culture to this day. When I heard about the Little Homie’s children’s books “for the next generation of Hip-Hop enthusiasts” I was so happy I had to grab the mic and put them on blast.
