Do you feel comfortable talking about money? I never did. Since I didn’t grow up with any guidance when it came to finances, the topic is something I’ve always shied away from and held a bit of shame around. Over time, I began to equate a lack of knowledge about money with a feeling that I wasn’t good at managing it. Now that I’m a Mom, I am facing my fears head on and teaching myself as much as possible about personal capital. Financial literacy has become an integral part of my journey to overcoming generational trauma around money.
My favorite resource for learning about investing and finances is @NerdWallet, they do extensive research and have a vast number of educational tools. The website and the app make it easy to explore money savings options, so I can earn the most on my accounts and reach my goals faster. I feel much more confident making these new money decisions and I’m getting intentional about what I do with my savings.
What are some of the money messages you grew up with? Did your family talk openly about finances? Here’s to normalizing conversations about building wealth and sharing knowledge!
