Guess how I met all my New Years 2022 resolutions by the end of January? I didn’t make any! I don’t believe in waiting until some special month of the year to make changes in my life.
Why I Don’t Make Resolutions
I don’t believe that resolutions work. For years, I made grand resolutions to begin the year, and I never accomplished them. They always felt so huge and intimidating, and they were. That’s because I waited until the new year to start doing the things I should have been doing every day.
Resolutions are great in theory, but they never work because we never follow through. Our resolutions are always so large, and large resolutions are so difficult to accomplish. Instead, I try to do the things I need to do to keep myself healthy and happy on a daily basis. Then no resolutions are needed.
Every Day is a Day for Resolutions
Every single day, I make mini resolutions. These are daily things that I can do for myself to keep my body and spirit healthy. So when I need to every day I:
Create when I’m inspired
Rest when I’m tired
Learn with consistency
Grow relentlessly
Celebrate how far I’ve come
Stay hungry for how far I can go
Say yes to fewer things
Make peak health a top priority
Never miss a chance to be kind
Honor my daily gratitude practice
By doing these things every day, I have no need for resolutions because I’m already feeding both my mind and my body. This allows me to remain on the life trajectory that I want for myself without the pressure of huge, grand resolutions that are mountains that seem too difficult to climb.
Make New Years 2022 the Year of No Resolutions
My life is so much better since I started saying no to resolutions and yes to daily improvement, and I think you’ll benefit from it, too. This year, why not make New Years 2022 the year of no resolutions and more daily progression in your mind and body.
